AFL programs

As a football memorabilia collector there is still a pureness in me for old American Football League memorabilia and, in particular, programs.

Long the staple of any football game, a football game program is the essence of many Fall afternoons. American Football League team collectors enjoy and search for their team's elusive game programs. Patriots, Bills, Titans/Jets, Oilers, Chargers, Texans/Chiefs, Raiders and Broncos fans all embrace and treasure the early years game programs of their teams.

In this article I am going to focus on some of these tough and elusive early regular season AFL programs from 1960, 1961, 1962 and 1963. If your favorite team was not in the playoffs or championship game, you will need to collect 14 regular season game programs (7 home, 7 away) to complete an annual run. For the four years I am looking at, these could be the toughest 56 programs of your collection. If you are a Chargers, Oilers, Texans, Bills or Patriots fan, that playoff or championship game program may be even a more difficult find.
